I bought The Miniaturist during my stay in Amsterdam four years ago and since then, this book has been buried under my TBR pile. Planning to read this after Ramadan.

The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic
This lovely cover caught my eye as I was browsing through the bookstore. Language of Thorns contains six short stories and is an interesting read if you are a fan of fairy tales and folklore. The first story about a girl named Ayama got me hooked.
Beautifully written and sets the mood for a late night read.
I bought The City of Brass after looking at all the hype on social media. To be honest, it was a difficult read because it took me 2 weeks to finish. I found it a bit challenging to keep up with the characters. I am glad I got over with this book but it wasn’t so bad.
“And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, So the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all.” – Khalil Gibran
This birthday, my husband gifted me some interesting books and Khalil Gibran’s collection was one of them. I have only read The Prophet. His compiled works include topics such as travel, love, crime and many more.
If someone asks you how you are, you are meant to say FINE. You are not meant to say that you cried yourself to sleep last night because you hadn’t spoken to another person for two consecutive days. FINE is what you say.
This book picked me up, threw me down and got my emotions on a roller coaster. This is a story of Eleanor Oliphant, an enigmatic 30-year-old who thinks she is living a quotidian life. I was deeply moved by the story and wondered how loneliness can convince you to do things that you never dreamt off. At several instances, I could totally relate to Ms.Oliphant. π ππππ
I am not into self-help books. I bought The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F* and after a few pages, I switched to the audio book. Really enjoyed Roger Wayne’s narration and I would recommend this book to everyone.
Have you tried audio books? What do you think?
